There's so many different types of yoga and it's really important to find the right yoga practice for you.
While I enjoyed the hatha yoga I started with I decided to find a more challenging experience. That's when a friend took me to her Power Vinyasa Yoga class, which seriously kicked my butt, but I loved it! Power vinyasa classes are held in a hot room, which really gets your muscles moving and torches the calories. While it was a much more intense class than the hatha yoga I was used to, I was hooked after the first class.
I'm lucky enough to live in the Jacksonville area which actually has two studios that practice Vinyasa yoga and cultivates a really amazing yogi community.

Intro to Yoga and Me
Welcome to my blog about loving the yoga life! I first got into yoga about three years ago while taking a college course for it. Basically, it seemed like an easy A, but it became much more than that.
The type of yoga I started off with was Anusara Inspired yoga, which is a form of hatha yoga that means "flowng with grace" and "following your heart." It's a much more calming, flowing form of yoga that focuses on alignment. This type of yoga not only made me feel totally at peace but also awakened other senses in me and made me feel healthier in general.
After the class and college ended I realized it would be beneficial to both my mind and body to continue on with the practice of yoga.
